7 Tips to negotiate for higher salary

You are done with the group discussion and interviews and you know that they want to hire you. But there is a problem because your expectation level is not met with regards to money. Then what to do? Here are seven tips to negotiate about salary:
Emphasis on your strengths
Describe your accomplishments, strengths and suitability for the job profile in approachable way. Quantify your success with the achievements, grades your have received.
Don’t blink
Never interrupt when the interviewer is talking. Be a good listener first and then present yourself.
Ask about benefits
Along with the money, it’s also important to talk about what kind of perks and benefits the company is ready to offer. Also ask about the appraisal system.
Value yourself
Draw attention to your points but don’t emphasis too much. Avoid overconfidence.
Be diplomatic
Let the company propose the actual figure then introduce your salary range. Never give the exact figure.
Do your research properly
You need to have a clear idea about your minimum and maximum salary expectations. Prepare in advance what you have to talk.
Believe in yourself
If you play cards in a right way, you may land up with a job offering salary beyond your dreams and expectations.

I think everybody should demand for an higher amount than what we want.. then the company automatically gives you how much you want! :D
