Probably the most glamorous career in the world, acting has the ability to make one famous overnight, if the right film and role comes along your way. Read on to find out how to make it big in the Indian film industry. Lights, camera, action…
Personality
There are no limits to amount of skills one needs to become an actor. Hard work, the willingness to make a fool of one in front of an audience, dedication and the ability to take rejection again and again are just some of the key attribute required.
Acting schools
Two institutes that have produced some of the finest actors today are the National School of Drama and FTTI, Pune.
Reputed institutions that have courses in acting include An Actor Prepares where aspiring actors get professional training. These acting schools provide actors with practical experience as well as lessons in acting, dancing and action.
Remuneration
We have all heard about the sky high fees that some actors are paid for movies. However, that happens when one reaches a certain pedestal in the acting world. Actors get paid according to their talent and star status that they command.
Television serials are another way how actors can get a steady income if they get a role in some serial. With a host of new channels, and new programmes being launched almost every month, there is a lot of scope to get cast in a TV serial.
Also, once in the limelight actors get approached by brands so that they can endorse the, hence this can become a supplementary source of income. Of course, once again the stars are the ones who receive the fattest cheques. Actors also get paid for performances and appearances at parties, functions and other events.
