Media courses include Film, Journalism, Mass Communication, Advertising and Public Relations.

Jobs in the media may be difficult to get which is why networking is important. Some institutes offer internships which may lead to job offers.

Eligibility: 10+2 for diploma/bachelor’s degree programs

Entrance exam: Yes – for certain qualifications. There may also be a group discussion and personal interview.

Skills required: Communication, analytical, language, networking, ability to work under pressure

Possible careers: Actor, director, journalist, TV presenter, producer, copy writer public relations officer

Approximate salaries for freshers: Rs 1.2 lakh – 2.4 lakh (depends on the course selected and institute)
