Description

Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh was established in 1953. It was shifted to its present campus in 1960. From a sapling, it has grown into a leading institution having its own distinct impression on the educational and cultural life of the city beautiful.

With its spacious building housing big class rooms, lecture theatres, laboratories, language lab, well-stocked library, and facilities like large playgrounds, swimming pool, multi-gym, hostels, coupled with top-notch faculty.

The motto chosen for the college was "HIGHER AND STILL HIGHER". It is a challenge in itself as it makes the students aspire for higher standards in all they do.

The creative qualities of the students are developed and polished through positive activities such as public speaking, quizzing, dramatics, creative writing and sports. The spirit of discipline and regularity is developed through N.C.C. and N.S.S. activities.

The college library is instrumental in honing the reading habits of the youth. The young minds are encouraged to read and ruminate as an open shelf system exists in the library. The feeling of tolerance and brotherhood is fostered through a series of lectures by eminent persons from all walks of life. The college also holds debates, declamation competitions, quizzes, and also organizes paper reading contests on science, art and literature.
