This Institute was started in 1985 by Sir Chhotu Ram Educational Trust at Kanjhawala, Delhi, and is the First Institute of its kind in a rural area of Delhi. Initially, the Institute was offering Diploma Courses in three subjects but now it offers Diploma in 8 subjects.


From an initial intake of 450 students in the year 1985, the Institute today has about 1100(Aprox.) students enrolled in different courses.


Academically, the performance of the Institute is much better than that of Govt. Polytechnics in Delhi. The Institute is being run successfully under the guidance of Sir Chhotu Ram Educational Trust .


The Institute has a well-qualified faculty of 60 members along with 40 other supporting staff.


The Institute is located in Kanjhawala, Delhi on an area of 12 acres . It has an "Exbition Block" for rural technologies, a library-cum-reading room, playgrounds, workshops, laboratories, etc. Hostel buildings and a new academic block are under construction. 



The institute boasts of an enviable infrastructure spanned across 8 Acres of Land where students work seamlessly in an environment, facilitated by a state of the art Laboratories for different Area of specialization, an exhaustive library with a growing collection of books, periodicals and CD ROMs. The Library is the main resource center of the Institute and has a fast growing collection over 18000 select titles in management and related areas to cater academic and research needs of the users -- Faculty & Students.


The aesthetically designed Campus has a stimulating atmosphere, conducive to all round development of a participant. The campus have 40 rooms, one conference hall, one big hall, about 70 laboratories / Drawing hall / Workshops, meeting room, guest rooms in its Academic Block.


The Trust also has an Exhibition Block for Rural Technology, a library-cum-reading room exclusively, for those undertaking research on Jats. Playgrounds, indoor facilities for extra-curricular activities as well as a good horticulture nursery and a park. Hostel building and a new academic block are under construction.
