Description

The University College of Engineering (UCE) has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest among engineering colleges of the State of Andhra Pradesh.


This was the sixth engineering college to be established in the whole of British India.


The college moved to its present building in 1947. The college was made autonomous in 1994.


There is yearly intake of 320 undergraduate students (full-time) and 140 (part-time) students and 290 postgraduate students (full-time and part-time).There are 109 teaching staff members, including 24 professors.


The College offers four-year engineering degree courses leading to the award of Bachelor of Engineering (B E). The College also offers courses leading to Master of Computer Applications, Master of Science by Research and also Ph D, in the various branches of Engineering.


The University College of Engineering has a spacious  placement office with  latest infrastructure  for the smooth and efficient conduct of Campus Recruitment Programmes (CRPs) by  the visiting organizations.


The University College of Engineering has created a model facility in the name of Students Activities Centre in the premises of the College adjacent to Sports Complex. This kind of facility is normally provided in the IITs .


Indoor games like carrom, chess, etc are provided as a recreational activity for students to relax during free time apart from providing few sports magazines. There is also a gym and cafeteria.
