Description

Chidambaram Institute of Maritime Technology [CIMeT] was established in 1997 under the CSC Trust as a dedicated institution, to train Engineering Graduates as Marine Engineers to cater to the needs of the Maritime Industry.

The institute is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping for conducting the Training Course and is certified under ISO Standard - ISO 9001 – 2008. Pursuant to the approval of the Director General Shipping permitting the Diploma Holders in Engineering to be trained for two years for conversion as Marine Engineers, the Institute admits the Diploma Holders from Polytechnics approved by the Department of Technical Education for the Training Course.

CIMeT operates from a campus in beautiful serene rural surroundings and yet not far from the port city of Chennai which is a leading maritime education and training centre The Institute has attached Hostel and Canteen facilities for the Trainees.
