Description

Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research (SMIMER) is a self-financed medical college & hospital governed by the Surat Municipal Corporation. The institute imparts not only quality medical education but also caters to the health care needs of the society.


SMIMER, being a medical college, follows the rules and regulations of the Medical Council of India, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University as well as the government of Gujarat with commitment to maintain highest standards in the field of medical education.


Both the college and hospital sections are on the same campus. The hospital complex comprises a separate seven story building, housing OPD Blocks, Indoor and Casualty Departments and Operation Theatres as well as having adequate space and infrastructure for teaching activities in all the departments.


There are four lecture theatres in the college building and one lecture theatre in the hospital building. All the lecture theatres are of gallery type and are provided with audiovisual aids such as LCD Projectors, Slide Projectors, Overhead Projectors, TV, VCD/VCR, etc. Besides, there is a separate examination hall, common room for girls and boys, and other ancillary facilities also available in the college.
