Bhubaneswar IIT hosts first convocation

Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar(IIT-BBS) hosted its first convocation on August 31. About 94 students were awarded Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) degree as they completed degree at the four-year-old institute.
One student will be receive a PhD in electrical engineering. Nuclear scientist and former chairman of Atomic Energy Commission of India Anil Kakodkar will be the chief guest at the convocation ceremony.
The institute is currently functioning in various temporary campuses. Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar started its classes in Bhubaneswar in 2009
The IIT-BBS awarded Honoris Causa (doctor of Science) to Dr Bhakta B Rath, who is associate director of research and head material sciences and component technology directorate, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington DC, USA.
