CADD: What courses can I study?

Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, or CADD, refers to the use of computers for manufacture and design. These programs are suitable for students inclined towards Engineering.
Architectural CADD
Architectural CADD focuses on using software to prepare drawings of structural techniques to use for construction.
Course content: An Architectural CADD course involves 2D Drafting, 3D Modeling and Analysis. Students will be exposed to software packages used in Engineering and Architectural design.
Suitable for: A course in Architectural CADD is suitable for students who have a background in Civil Engineering, Architecture / Building and Interior Design.
Civil CADD
This area involves visualization of drawings prepared by Engineers and Architects.
Course content: Students will be taught skills such as Surveying, 2D Drafting, 3D Modeling and Analysis. Civil CADD also includes Project Planning, Project Management and Structural Analysis.
Mechanical CADD
Mechanical CADD uses principles of Mechanical Engineering for product design.
Course content: A course in Mechanical CADD typically includes 2D Drafting, 3D Modeling, Analysis & Detailing as well as Manufacturing.
Electrical CADD
Students are taught about electrical design and project management in this course. There is also an emphasis on soft skills.
Course content: Creating schematics for Control Circuit Diagrams, Pneumatics & Hydraulics.
Electronic CADD
This subject focuses on designing circuits and electronic components. Students are taught how to use project management tools.
Students are taught how to design and analyse through the use of software products.
