IIT Delhi to set up campus in Mauritius

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is all set to establish a campus in Mauritius. The campus will be named as International Institute of Technology.
With an aim to develop an international campus and encourage more research in the field of engineering, the Indian education ministry along with Mauritius government has planned to set up a research based institute in Mauritius.
This institute will make the IITs go global.
Professors at IIT Delhi will mentor the institute in Mauritius in collaboration with the University of Mauritius.
The premier tech school will initially set up a research centre that will be upgraded to a full-fledged university over a period of five years.
The IIT centre at Mauritius will cost $20 million (over Rs 105 crore).
Like IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay is planning a campus in New York. IIT Kharagpur also has plans to set up an extension centre in Dubai.
