This institute will make the IITs go global.
Professors at IIT Delhi will mentor the institute in Mauritius in collaboration with the University of Mauritius.
The premier tech school will initially set up a research centre that will be upgraded to a full-fledged university over a period of five years.
The IIT centre at Mauritius will cost $20 million (over Rs 105 crore).
