IIT-G: Learning device for autistic children

Indian Institute of Technology- Guwahati (IIT-G) has come up with a learning device for autistic children. The project to launch the device is in its initial stage.
The Assam Autism foundation which is a pioneer organisation has collaborated with Indian Institute of Technology to create the device. The project was started to combat the problems faced by the autistic children in learning and to help them communicate better.
The organization is working on the awareness of developmental disabilities and their rehabilitation.

The cases of autism are on the rise in India as there are misconceptions about the disability. According to reports, the children with autism are not diagnosed properly and do not receive proper treatment due to lack of awareness.
Causes of Autisim
Research indicates that anything that can produce structural or functional damage to the central nervous system can also produce the condition of Autism.
