IIT-JEE 2013: Dissent grows over new pattern

Even as the government has decided to go ahead with a new pattern for the joint entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT-JEE), the teachers and alumni of the IITs are not happy, some even planning to approach the courts.
According to sources, as many as five out of seven senates of the IITs had expressed opposition to the idea but the government chose to proceed regardless.
President of IIT Delhi Alumni Association (IITDAA) Somnath Bharti said the step diluted the vision of the country's first prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru about the IITs, and added that the association may go to court to get a stay on the government decision "if required".
"This is dilution of the IIT envisioned by Pt. Nehru," said Bharti.
"We will have a meeting soon and, if required, we will approach the court," Bharti, who is also a Supreme Court advocate and a former member of IIT Delhi senate, told IANS.

that was very good , i will always be here waiting for more updates
inhelp
hrd ministry's decision will detoiriate the the standards of the premier institute's of india like iits nits becoz of basically taking into consideration the 12 class marks which is not determined by ur intellegence but by ur cramming abilty how well u can keep ur teacher in ur side so that u can get the maximum marks in the practicals ,secondly the biggest hurdle in one nation one test funda is that if a person looses his concentration on that fine day he will loose his 2 years of dedicated efforts has to wait for the next year.so in my point of view postponing the pattern 2014 is the best option.
roocking
peoples are taking dummy admission in 2 , as no weightage given to 2 marks, due to this coaching are mushrooming in each city like anything , poor people who cant afford fees of coaching are suffering , no body is giving coaching for BITS PILANI , they are also taking bright student , but giving weightage to 2 marks . , indeed this is a good step
if we give weightage to grade xii exams, many of our states will award 90 - 95 percentage marks to their own students. it will become a disaster for iit jee.. never ever change teh existing pattern dear ministry..
an existing system that works fine, then wats all these scrap.. iit and aieee should conduct by iit jee board and cbse respectively.. period.
kapil sibal, plz do not change the existing pattern, it will kill our children.. just go as it is..
now if u want 2 become an iitian start bribing ur lab assistant
Mr. Kapil Sibal, if you want to bring change please do not do it rashly on the expense of students. The students should get to know the details of the procedure when they join 11th std. Now not even 1 year is left for the 2013 exams, and still we do not have any clue about the marking scheme or the question patterns of these 2 exams (main and advance). Normalization of marks across boards is also a dubious issue, because the score pattern changes every year.
good information… Thankyou……

IIT-JEE 2013
