IIT-JEE 2013: New format decided for entrance exam

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Union government have agreed to the new format of the IIT entrance examination which was decided at a meeting between the HRD ministry and Joint Admission Board (JAB).

The new format of IIT-JEE will be implemented from 2013.

According to the new format of IIT –JEE, there will be one main paper (30 percent) and one advanced paper (30 percent) for each subject.

Students will sit for the main paper in the morning and advanced in the afternoon. Psychometry experts will help in setting the paper.

Admission to several deemed universities will also be on the basis of scores in the main exam, which earlier took students on basis of AIEEE scores.
