IIT-JEE 2013: PM to meet faculty

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will meet the Faculty Federation and Alumni Associations of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) today over the Common Entrance Exam (CET).
IIT-Kanpur opposed the plan of Human Resource Development minister Kapil Sibal and sought the direct intervention of Prime Minister to settle the issue.
The faculty members and the majority of the alumni believe that single Common Entrance Exam (CET) will add burden on the students. Currently various entrance exams are being held which include AIEEE, NIT, IIT-JEE for admissions to engineering course.
Earlier IIT- Kanpur had decided to hold its own entrance test from 2013.
Upset with the ministry's decision to merge IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IIT-JEE) with the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), the 210-member senate of IIT-Kanpur passed a resolution rejecting the new format.
The students also believe that due to different boards in the country, measuring the performance of the students based on class XII results is not possible on the basis of any statistical formula.

Mr. Sibal.. can u think how much pressure student already got in 12 class related to the board exam and now those students who scored less in the board exam due to some reasons and still want to prepare for the jee exam and deserve to crack it but due to less marks they are not able to think about it but there stay only a dream about it in there mind.. And only 40,000 students are qualified for main test what about others students then 40,000 students they got lost or do attempts like suicide because of such pressure .. Please don't try to decline the Respect of IIT NITs and don't decline the education system in INDIA .. The Old system is already good and don't try to cut the roots of education system because you has already done that in 10th .. please leave INDIA and EDUCATION System in INDIA . And please think as a student ...NO COMMONT ENTRANCE TEST PLEASE...

CET is the best option ... especially when we need to have a uniformity in the system.
