The Madras high court had instructed all IITs not to invite Public sector undertakings PSUs for campus placements. However, after the court vacating its stay, the PSUs are looking at hiring IITians.
However, the PSUs are hiring during the second round of the placements.
Earlier, PSUs had planned their hiring on the basis of the GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) scores.
The second phase started at IIT-B on January 7. The interviews are scheduled on the weekends.
900 students have got jobs out of 1,400. The first phase ended in December 2011.
At IIT-Madras, over 500 students will give interviews for placements.
Students, who were selected by PSUs in December 2011, were absorbed a few weeks after the stay was vacated in October last year.
The second phase for placements would begin from January 16, 2013.
