Nautical Science: Rs 4,80,000 starting salary

Nautical Science is the knowledge that one needs to securely navigate and control a ship.

A qualification in Nautical Science is what is needed for a career in the merchant navy.

Eligibility:

The following is the eligibility criteria:
- The student should have passed Class 12 (Science) or Equivalent from a recognised University
- Should have had Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics  as compulsory subjects: (Minimum 60%  score in  each subject required)
- English as the main language in class 10 or 12 ( Minimum 50% score in English is needed)
- The candidate should be not more than 25 years of age.

Physical requirements:

Candidate should not suffer from colour blindness and should have 6/6 vision in both eyes.

During admission, it is mandatory to pass the fitness test.

Jobs available:

After completing the course, the cadets can join shipping companies as Trainee Cadet Officers.

After a year of sea experience, one is promoted to the position of Third Officer after passing the required exams. In time, one moves up to the post of Chief Officer and following that the captain of the ship.

Salary:

The starting salary is approximately Rs 40, 000 and In the case of international companies the emolument received is higher.
