Rajkot-based college under 'no admission zone'

A Rajkot-based college of business administration (MBA) will be shifted to the 'no admission zone' soon due to lack of teachers and infrastructure facilities.

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has recommended to the Gujarat Common Entrance Exam (GCET) committee to put the college in 'no admission zone'.

The recommendation came after an inspection by the Local Inquiry Committee (LIC) revealed that the college was breaking a number of norms meant for such an institute. The college was found to be functioning with 40% less teachers than it should have as per norms. The college also had poor infrastructure.

The condition of the college came into light when LIC carried out a surprise inspection.

The LIC would also inspect other GTU affiliated colleges’ academic strength to decide whether they are well-equipped to impart quality education in MBA, MCA, pharmacy and engineering.
