Engineering is concerned with designing, building and using engines, machines and structures. It requires students to have very good skills in Mathematics.

Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for diploma/B Tech/BE. Postgraduate requires relevant bachelor’s degree course.

Entrance exam: Yes – IIT-JEE, AIEEE etc. States and institutes may have their own exams. There are plans of introducing a common engineering test from 2013. Some postgraduate engineering courses may require GATE.

Skills required: Following ar the skills required to become an engineer- Numerical skills, analytical skills, problem solving, delegation, teamwork

Possible careers: Two of the possible careers one can choose from are becoming an engineer or an entrepreneur.

 Institute of Engineering and Management

Ive heard there is a lot of politics in jadavpur university, is it true? does this not affect the students performance and attendance?
