Law is a popular option available to students who have passed their CBSE, HSC or any other board for Class 12 in any discipline.
What is it: Law is the study of rules and guidelines enforced through social institutions to govern behaviour, wherever possible. A degree in law leads to LLB. It is a five year program.
Eligibility: 10+2 in any stream.
What you study: English, Sociology, Indian Judicial Law, Constitutional Law, International Law etc.
Entrance Exams: Most institutes conduct their own entrance exams but some admit students on merit. The most well-known exam is CLAT.

Salary for freshers: Depends on the institute you graduate from and marks obtained. The average salaries range between Rs 3 lakh as a judicial clerkship in a Supreme Court to salaries for over Rs 11 lakh a year in corporate firms.
