Medicine is a popular option available to students who have passed their CBSE, HSC or any other board for Class 12 in Science.
What is it: A degree in Medicine leads to MBBS. Students taking this degree will learn to diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses and provide preventive care and health education for all ages.
Eligibility: 10+2 in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
What you study: Topics will include Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Community Medicine among others.
Entrance Exams: Most institutes conduct their own entrance exams. Popular ones include AIIMPT conducted by AIIMS.

Salary for freshers: Depends on the institute you graduate from and marks obtained. Average range is Rs 25,000 - Rs 35,000 each month (MBBS). Most students will go on to do a superspecialisation after MBBS.
