All India PG Medical Entrance Test 2013: Exam may be online

The All India Postgraduate Medical Entrance Test, or AIPGME, will probably be online this year.

The exam will be conducted in December 2013. The test is for admission to all India 50 per cent quota.

It was learnt that the National Board of Examination (NBE) could be conducting the AIPGME. NBE had engaged over 250 faculty members across India to create a question bank.

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was not willing to conduct the exam. A Supreme Court judgment, however, had stated that AIIMS will be conducting the exam.

AIPGME is one of the postgraduate medical entrance examinations. It was supposed to have been replaced by NEET-PG.

The Supreme Court on July 18 had stated that it was not possible to have one entrance exam for medicine, dentistry and PG medical courses.

CBSE will continue to conduct the undergraduate exam for 15 per cent of UG seats.
